Commonly known as the oldest national reserve of India, Jim Corbett National Park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. Later it was named after the famous British Hunter, sportsman, and writer Jim Corbett who had spent a long period of his entire life here. Reserved as a natural home for the wild elephants, leopards and especially the endangered Bengal Tigers, Corbett National Park is located at the foothills of the lofty Himalayas in Nainital district of Uttarakhand in the Northern part of India. Jim Corbett National Park is home to lots of meandering wild animals like langurs, Asiatic black bears, Nilgai, barking deer, spotted deer, sloth bears, more than 600 resident and migrant bird species to varieties of reptiles and amphibians. You can explore the wilderness during mid-November to mid-June as the park stays closed during the summer and monsoon season to avoid inconvenience for the travelers.

Day 1: Arrival at Corbett National Park:

Begin your journey with a 6 hours drive from Delhi to Ramnagar that lies 260 km afar to arrive at the threshold of the Corbett National Park. Check in at the wildlife resort as soon as you reach and relax for the day while having delicious lunch amidst the wild. For the rest of the day, you can explore and enjoy the deluxe atmosphere of the resort. Also, you can experience a peaceful evening stroll along the tranquil riverside of Kosi and meditate in the enchanting fresh forest air. At night do not forget to enjoy a heavenly dinner under the stars before dozing off for the day.

Day 2 – Elephant ride through the woods and explore the untamed:

National Park will remain incomplete without an early morning adventurous elephant ride through the unspoiled green beauty of the natural park. Take a short break at the resort for breakfast before heading towards the lakeside by a jeep to explore the crocodiles – some resting in the sun and some hunting fishes for their breakfast. You can also drive to the Jhirnajhali zone before returning to the resort for a lunch break and rest. Start your jeep safari in the afternoon and drive into the core wilderness to witness the untamed lifestyles of the wild elephants and tigers. Keep your eyes wide open as you might find a tiger just behind the nearby bushes or resting under some shade or in the open field. Often if you are fortunate enough, you might catch the best thrilling sight of a tiger waiting for its prey or attacking. Return to the resort in the evening; spend some time by watching the natural life slide show before satisfying your appetite and slide under the blanket.

Day 3: Tiger Tracing:

Next day, after having breakfast embark on another journey on the next locale for tiger tracing at Jim Corbett National Park. Not only the big cats but you can explore the remarkable wild species like spotted deer, barking deer, wild boars, leopard along with numerous bird species like Serpent Crested Eagle, Kingfisher and others. Return to the rest house by the evening; spend some time with the other members of the troupe or friends and families while preparing for the next day.

Day 4 - Time to bid adieu

After spending 3 amazing nights amidst the verdant greens, it is the time to return to the regular track of life. Check out from the resort after having breakfast for the last time while listening to the bird songs and the rustling of the leaves around.
